What is Touch Grass Day?
Touch Grass Day is a global invitation to step outside on June 27th. It started as a playful reminder that sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is the simplest: go outside, feel the earth beneath our feet, and take a break from our screens.
Why June 27th?
We picked a date right in the heart of summer (for the Northern Hemisphere, at least) when the weather is warm, the days are long, and the grass is at its greenest. It's the perfect excuse to log off and step outside.
What do I actually do?
On June 27th, log off, step outside, and touch some grass. Feel the earth beneath your feet. Breathe. Be present. Whether it's your backyard, a local park, or a patch of green on your lunch break โ take a moment to reconnect with nature. Bonus points if you do it with someone else. This is about disconnecting from screens and reconnecting with the people and world around you.
Is this a real thing?
It is now! Touch Grass Day started as a playful idea โ a reminder that sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is the simplest: go outside, feel the earth beneath our feet, and take a break from our screens.
Do I need to sign up?
Nope! But if you want a friendly reminder when the day arrives (and maybe some grass-touching tips), sign up for our newsletter. We promise to only email you the good stuff.
Can I participate from anywhere?
Absolutely. Touch Grass Day is global. If it's winter where you are, touch a houseplant. Touch some snow. Touch the earth however you can. The point is to be present in the physical world for a moment.
Who's behind this?
Just some people who spend too much time on computers and thought everyone could use a gentle reminder to go outside.
